How to extend doorbell button cable?

I'm going to fit a Ring doorbell, so need to extend the doorbell button cable that has previously been cut. There isn't much currently available...

I have tried pulling it to see if it will extend a bit, but it won't.

What's the best solution please?

The only thing that will work there is soldering and heat shrink

after careful stripping

surely you can get to the cable on the inside, and joint a new bit on, and poke the new wire through?

No, I think it was done by the previous owner of the house when they fitted the wireless doorbell.

You could try making a hole somewhere else where you think the cable may run, to gain a SENSIBLE amount of slack cable to joint to.


Good luck with trying to solder onto that little bit of cable...
