But. Due to timings the rendering was done before the soffit were not put on before the render, so we have a gap. See pictures.
So there is a gap to be filled, or, rather, sealed. Timber cut at 32deg and then sealed and nailed, is one guess.
Flexible vinyl tape, with sealant, nailed to the rafters, might work.
But any (cheaper thoughts greatly (desperately) ) received.
