I just had a go and ended up snapping all the braiding off with the outer cover.

Is it just a case of going around it very carefully with a knife?

I'm installing a skylink, by the way. Thought i'd upgrade the cable.

That's how I do it - with a new stanley blade or ideally a scalpel.

I done it now :D One end anyway, just a practise!

A question - I have a length of co-ax running from the sky box's 9v out to a tv link. I have a TV half way. Can I take a branch off the co-ax straight into said TV? Or does the signal have to go through a TV Link?

With a knife, just don't cut all the way through, just most of the way and flex it slightly to break the last bit... same as you do with mains flex

I'm afraid it's a knack you gain from experience.
Coax is easier than flex as at least you can tell when you when you've reached the braid. So eay with flex to nick the inner insulation.

F plugs are used for the down lead to the digi box.

Crafty is feeding sky to a second tv from the RF2 output on the sky box. This is done using belling lee connectors.
