Hi
I have a hot water cylinder but can’t see a way to isolate it

The cylinder keeps itself full and to a set temperature. I can turn the main water feed off but if there is a leak there seems to be no way to stop the hot water exiting the tank

Am I missing something? There is a mains tap above the meter.

Turning off the cold water feed to the cylinder stops water from coming out at the top,to go to hot taps . Does that answer your question ?

Thanks for your help

Do not consider fitting a valve on the outlet, as already advised closing the inlet and opening the lowest HW tap will allow you to work on the outlet side
