I see the frogs have bottled it.

I see Boris Johnson has caved in on Level Playing Field.

And Barnier says thanks for the fish

BRITISH officials have hit back at claims by Michel Barnier that UK negotiators had "backtracked" in the row over post-Brexit fishing rights just as hopes for a deal were rising.

Raising hopes of a future relationship pact, the Brussels diplomat told EU27 ambassadors that progress had been made by both sides over the weekend on the so-called level playing field. The Frenchman said they had moved closer to a deal on enforcing the rules to ensure free and fair competition if Britain decides to not follow the EU’s regulations in the future. After a weekend of wrangling, Mr Barnier added that EU and UK officials are still yet to find an agreement over future controls over state subsidies for industry.

An EU diplomat said there had been "backtracking" by the British in the row over future access to our coastal waters for European boats.

The insider said Mr Barnier had described "some limited progress" in the discussions between the EU and UK over the weekend.

A UK source hit back at claims the country’s negotiators were “backtracking” in the discussions over fishing quotas.

“Just not true,” they said.

It is understood that British officials have dug their heels in on fish after offering minor concessions on the so-called "level playing field".

The Reuters news agency reported one EU diplomat as saying Mr Barnier was “guarded” in his debrief to EU envoys on the state of play in the Brexit talks.

The source added: "Patient still alive ... but keep the undertaker on speed dial."

It's the Daily Express, it has no connection with the truth.

What does the "DIYnot" community think in terms of a deal being more or less more likely or less likely?

So generally speaking putting everything together what do most of the "DIYnot" community think in terms of a deal is more likely or less likely? Do most people think a deal will definitely be done or do most think we'll be leaving without a deal? Is there anyway to post a survey?
SOD em.... they are just play acting. there will be a deal of some sort

There is but you won’t get the remainers on this site giving a prediction this close to the date. They backtrack or keep quiet. They only like to predict years ahead so that their predictions are forgotten when proved wrong. Many of them predicted that we wouldn’t leave the EU even after the referendum results.

I would sleep more peacefully at night knowing that's going to happen :)
We don’t HAVE to have a deal before we leave. Deals can be made anytime afterwards and there’ll be no need to rush things through. Take our time, I say.

There is sure to be lots of strategizing going on and posturing

Yes its far better to wait until the UK suffers a load of chaos....then we will be in a much stronger place to negotiate a deal

The UK will be negotiating for the next decade with the EU

brexiteers havent worked out the UK is sitting right next door to the worlds biggest harmonised customs union

yes Boris is just running down the clock so he can cave in at the last moment

brexiteers will believe anything now....some are even excited by a deal with Mexico worth 1/60th of EU trade

worlds biggest harmonised customs union

But a shrinking one in terms of output.

Both sides will suffer but we won’t be burning lorry tyres on the rail lines or rioting. The French will.
