I want to break free
I want to break free
I want to break free from your lies
You’re so self satisfied I don’t need you
I’ve got to break free

OK nothing wrong with that.

I’ve fallen in love
I’ve fallen in love for the first time
And this time I know its for real
I’ve fallen in love yeah
God knows God knows I’ve fallen in love

How can you fall in love for the first time, and this time know it’s for real, if you’ve never fallen in love before?

Its strange but its true
I cant get over the way you love me like you do
But I have to be sure
When I walk out that door
Oh how I want to be free baby
Oh how I want to be free
Oh how I want to break free

But life still goes on
I cant get used to living without living without
Living without you by my side
I don’t want to live alone hey
God knows got to make it on my own
So baby cant you see
I’ve got to break free

Erm… you mean you are in love with someone, but you know it’s no good, or what?

............and, who put the 'ram in the ram-a-lama-ding-dong' ?

Come on song writers - if you are going to utter such statements, at least have the tenacity to back them up!

Songs may not always appear to make sense and poetic license is often used...you of all people should know that. But this song does make sense, but partly may show elements of confusion as this is a reflection of the central character's mental state.......or it could just be a funny song which really doesn't need a deconstruction to analyse its own arsehole! ;)

Having said that  .....you can fall in love for the first time and this time you know its for real, because the time(s) before that, when you thought that you had fallen in love, you had not really fallen in love, so you had not fallen in love before this, just thought you had!

Regarding the last quote, Notty, have you not seen the video or is there something you want to tell us?

Why have you taken us down this cul de sac, Notty? ...and, more to the point, why have I followed? Still beats another racism debate!

With BAS gone, the lunatics will soon lay seige  ;)

Bas was afraid to take me on as I beat him every time he'd tried in the past.

The guy had no answers.

"someone" wrote "I am the eggman" .............and look where it got him

Watching him dash away, swinging an old bouquet - dead roses
Sake and strange divine Uh-hu-hu-uh-hu-hu you'll make it
Passionate bright young things, takes him away to war - don't fake it
Sadden glissando strings
Uh-hu-hu-uh-hu-hu - you'll make it

Who'll love Aladdin Sane
Battle cries and champagne just in time for sunrise
Who'll love Aladdin Sane

Motor sensational, Paris or maybe hell - (I'm waiting)
Clutches of sad remains
Waits for Aladdin Sane - you'll make it

Oooh Who'll love Aladdin Sane
Millions weep a fountain, just in case of sunrise
Oooh Who'll love Aladdin Sane

Analyse that then!

Clearly, this is about a mad guy, hence a lad insane, so the lyrics are to be seen from his perspective, ie. that of a crazy mofo!

Warning: If one does try to analyse these lyrics there is the distinct possibility of being drawn into the vortex of this lunatic's world never to fully recover your mental capacities again. But if you do wish for a full analysis, ask Notty.
