I wish we had big Don in charge over here !

Apparently we have an island called Ascension Island which is sparsely populated and could be used as a detention and sorting base. I don't know why this has not been utilised for such. I think Rwanda never had legs tbh.

Lammy's probably given it away by now.

Indeed, I thought deportations were deportations, seems it's a lot more complicated than that. The numbers themselves are quite interesting too.

I am guessing that the ones getting the attention this week are of the forced removal variety. And there seems to have been fewer of those under Biden.

In 2020, the plan was also described as “implausible” by a Home Office source.

Jacob Rees-Mogg, who was a cabinet minister when the plans were first considered, said the idea was dropped because “it was just thought to be impossibly expensive to do”.

He told GB News: “I was involved in some of the discussions looking at this whilst I was a member of the government and unfortunately it would cost at least a million pounds per person you sent there to do it."

Try something FFS. 24hr Drones to spot the boats assembling, special speedy boats to get in the way, declare the inflatables dangerous and make them return to France then rip the sides. Migrants lose money, smugglers lose money. Arrest anyone who comes out to protest or get their boat back. They'd call that a "deterrent".
Because it is barbaric. I hope we continue to play our part in what is a worldwide problem and it never gets to that.

You mean a country that tramples over freedom of speech and jails people for social media posts the government doesn't agree with.

Hmm, I wonder who's living in a dictatorship?

So if an ISIS terrorist was on social media inciting hatred against British people…..you would say “oh they have a right to do that it’s freedom of speech”

What I don't understand is if they can't prove what country they come from, how can they claim asylum? They give some BS sob story that they were being opressed in their country - but what country? How can their story stand up?

If someone claimed to come from, for example, Iran - give me an interpreter and internet and I could ask them 10 questions and know instantly if they were lying about which country. Not rocket science.
Do you know what the asylum process actually is?

Don't think you can equate terrorists with some geezer who's taken a short break from frapping to Pornhub to write a few choice words about illegal immigrants.
