Help required the LED display on my ICOS M3080 is no longer displaying anything and boiler is not heating hot water unless I put on the immersion heater. Is this likely to be the PCB fuse, a replacement PCB or a replacement control box?

Probably AAV leaking onto display board.

Sometimes only connector fails.

Often main PCB fails as well.

Unfortunately it is usually the pcb dead if nothing is showing at all on the display. Extremely common fault.

Most likely your cheapest option is to call Ideal out on a fixed price repair, £210 all in.

whoever does it ask them to check if those ridiculous pieces of wire are in place in the heat exchanger to stop the insulation moving and blowing the back of the boiler out.

As a beleagured owner of an Icos I can also say that its prob the pcb. Ideal will send someone out within 4 days if u r lucky, but the same pcb will then fail a year and a day later. We had one fail beacause of a leaky valve, one just because the pcb blew, and one from a fan problem.

Cutting my losses, and getting a worcester installed next week. See my previous posts if you think this is a knee jerk reaction!

you haven't had the best of luck have you.

hopefully you just inherited it & didn't pay for someone to fit it.

Got the same problem today! The led on the "on" switch is on. But absolutely no activity, no error codes no nothing. Have switched it on/off also at the mains and its dead. Will call out the insurance guys lets see what happens!

As closure. The PCB was replaced. All good :)
