Hi there . I would be grateful for any advice i can get on this worrying problem .
My boiler frequently fails with a LF code . It usualy lights ok when you reset .
Lately though it lights with such a bang that it is very frightening .
I am about to phone an engineer to have it looked at but the last time i done this a so called boiler engineer had it in bits and scratching his head walked away . On that occasion it was blocked on the outlet side. A proper engineer fixed it in 5 mins by sticking his finger into the boiler after removing the drain sump and removing 3/4 pint of water and grey sludge . it worked fine for about a year..
I just need a little advice as i hate part changers who think i am going to pay for there on the job training .
I just would like to have a little knowlege so that i know if he starts changing multiple parts i am at least a little aware of what is going on as some so called engineers just make it up as they go along .
I have no problem paying a good tradesmen a good days wage i just hate paying guys who have tied there horse to my front fence on the way in
PS sadly the good engineer i called last time has moved away .
Any advice gratefully appreciated .
