hiya hope someone can help me, please excuse the non technical terms: i have an ideal boiler..fitted with the warmfront grant and it has a wireless battery opperated thermosat in my hall, problem i have is that constantly keeps switching itself off and i have to go press a reset button i know it has not reached the temp on the thermostat but dont know why this keeps happening , its not a new problem its been doing it on and off since i had the boiler fitted, it is now out of service agreement and would rather not give them the satisfaction of having to pay them to come and fiddle with something when i truly believe the stuff they have put in is substandard, i have a timer thing which works great then under that is a box with a reset button on which is what i have to press when it goes off......anyone understand all that and can help i would be soooo grateful thanks x

Rest assured you will have many more problems. The only real solution is to get a good RGI in to remedy all the faults.
Is the roomstat a Sunvic or Salus by any chance?

Does the heating switch back on if you increase the temperature on the thermostat? What model of thermostat is it?

Sounds to me like a drayton, with the override button on it.

They are awful. Change it for a Danfoss version (DIY-able) and you will be ok.

its a honeywell thermo and it makes no difference increasing the temp, last night the boiler went off completly like it had no power then came back on a couple of hours later so i am now taking out a boiler repair plan i think as looking on the forums ideal boilers are total pants!! thank you all for your replys i may look at getting the thermo changed in the near future as im sure it is rubbish x

The problem could be do with the thermostat transmitter or the reciever in which you push in the reset button. If you can find the paperwork for the stat, see if it shows how to re-pair the devices. Might just do the trick.

Thanks jools for the thanks, did you get it working? I've come across a few which have lost communication between them but i've never re-paired them. I did though install one a couple of months back which needed pairing before use. Thats what makes me think re-pairing may do the job, also take the thermostat to wherever the reciever is so signal distance is short.

All the best.

still not working properly but i cant find my honeywell manual thing so i will download one and try pairing it the only problem is when my batterys run out before and i changed them i did have the book then and followed instructions but it wouldnt work at all but lucky for me it was still under warrenty and the guy was coming out to service it that week so i feel a little reluctant until i sort out some boiler cover and wait the 28 days it normally is before u can claim...i will just keep my eye on it and hit the button for a couple more weeks..i posted on here to see if anyone else had the same probs as i know the ideal boiler and honeywell themo are fitted in loads of houses now with the warmfront grant wanted to know if i was a common problem thanks you all for your replys as well it is much appreciated x
