Go to a wholesaler with proper plans. They often have tie-ups with lighting designers who can do layouts for you.
What has your architect said about it?
Why not use lights which are actually designed to do the job of lighting up rooms, rather than ones which are designed to not do that?We are building a new house and will soon have to do the ceilings everywhere.
