The policy may encourage a few anti-vaxxers to get jabbed. Probably just those who haven't got round to it rather than those who think it will make them transmit 5G signals. Those who are stubborn will either game the system or lie.

I can't see an Oral Vaccine taking off as Oral vaccines tend to be higher risk than jabs.

The interesting aspect really has been balancing herd immunity etc against damage to the economy. The effect on peoples minds is a secondary aspect. I dount if they care that much really. Earlier lockdowns /controls result in shorter durations. Really going for herd immunity is dependent on vaccinations and what the virus does. But let hospitalisation grow to levels that have been seen before? So they put controls on it to prevent that. Economically more people working from home hits town centre businesses and transport associated companies - that is happening now. More people are off sick. The controls may just be precaution due to not being sure of what will happen - rates etc. The fact that they are there will change peoples behaviour for a while - ;) probably until more decide covid is over.

A local food store lots use has had 2 days with no milk deliveries and other shortages - are we going to see the repercussions that sort of thing causes again? The Uk isn't the only country with Omicron.

FYI, I don't trust the government, but thankfully I think for myself and have the ability to judge what is close to the truth and what is not.

I'm all for vaccine passports as being considered by our people in number 10.
That's one hell of a f*cked up decision process!

Lately I have noticed a lot of people wearing coats. May have something to do with cold and rain. Also 99.99% have some form of footwear.
I've been criticised for making what I thought were whimsical responses to a couple of his posts. I was hoping that he might take the unsubtle hints and give his posts a bit more thought.
So I'll try a more straightforward but positive advisory approach with a few points:

To ajohn
Try structuring your sentences and paragraphs with a little more thought, so your ideas flow into each other. Avoid sentences that could be taken completely out of context if they are stand alone sentences, like the recent example above. Some of your posts look more like your own notes taken at breakneck speed. your reader cannot keep up with you swapping to new ideas without 'signposts', i.e. linking words or phrases leading the reader into the next sentence, such as 'which explains why...', or 'that is influenced by....', etc, and then elucidate in the new sentence.
Don't throw in a thought without a reason, e.g. "then there's the holidays, pass".
Don't try a supersonic, encyclopaedic overview of an issue. Those don't work, and leads to a load of unconnected and unargued issues.
If you need to highlight something that is of general knowledge in your argument, recognise that, rather than state it as though you've just thought of it.
When you do use apparent unconnected and unargued premises, recognise it, perhaps with 'if this is true, then'. Point out its relevance or why you're presenting it.
When you switch to another argument, topic, or explanation, etc, use a new paragraph. Give your reader time to adjust to this new idea.

Your posts are far easier to read, more enjoyable, more enlightening and easier to respond to, when you deal with one or two issues at a time.
No doubt I'll be subjected to a load of flack now, such as, 'who the heck do I think I am', etc.
Carry on but it's water off a duck's back to me.

The gent concerned mentioned the tariff on footwear not manufactured in the EU. Especially for children.
Who is this gent, and in what context did he say foreign manufactured children's shoes are subject to tariffs?

Overheard and recorded by a TV reporter. Other uttering were too by various - agreeing with with we beat them during to war. All he did say was Yes to that.

The tariff - It's disgusting and on children's shoes. I have no idea if this tariff even exists and don't care one way or the other.

Look for yourself.

Re. the proposed sacking of unvaccinated NHS workers: What kind of termination of employment will they be given? Are they to be made redundant with a payout and notice period; or are they to be instantly dismissed with no recompense as if they had committed a regualr sacking offence?

Has this been discussed?

THe question that may be asked is

If one forces (?) people to have this covid vaccine by sort of threats

what about this flu vacine .

I dunno they could encourage it amongst the elderly by stopping there pensions untill they have it ??
