hi

i have had a combi installed so we have some now redundant wiring for the imersion heater left under the floor , as it runs from a seperate fuse on the fuse box should this fuse be removed and wiring disconnected ?

or should we just leave it and turn it off from the fuse box ?

When your combi was installed I presume that the immersion heater was disconnected at a nearby isolator which has been left in place, removing the fuse will isolate the circuit. It is perfectly safe to leave this & the asociated wiring in place. Plus you never know, it may come in handy in the future. :)

assuming the cable and fuse/mcb is all ok you could easily convert it into a 13A socket.

One way is to pop into B+Q, and buy an RCD socket, and install it in place of the old immersion isolator switch - test for polarity, meggering and earth impedance etc - job done.
