Immersion Heater - No Hot water

Hi everyone

My mate has an old hot water tank, heated up by an immersion. He's getting no hot water today. I have checked the stat hasn't tripped, and tested for continuity and the meter bleeped. I also tested the resistance of the element itself and the reading was 19.6 Ohms.

The neon indicator on the switch that feeds the immersion is also lit up.

What could be the cause, as I can't think of anything else?

Have you checked that actual thermostat?

This could have failed.

I did a continuity test on the stat and it bleeped, so it was calling for heat. (circuit made)..
