Also the non UK nurses tend not stay very long at 1 hospital (except the Indian ones ) as they like to go for the big London ones for even more feathers under their cap before they then go back home to a job promotion from working in the NHS.
Hes Australian Israeli. His with is American Israeli. They have plenty of choice.

Not safe for Jews in this country.

Interesting.

Why wouldn’t you?
Worked in enough new houses to understand.

So, apart from insulation, what are things that are not as good as in older houses?
New technology
Solar
Heat pumps
MVHRs.
HIU units.
All good technology just a lack of skilled workers fitting them.

Indeed, the mere highlighting of relatively minor deficiencies in newer houses does not, by itself, substantiate the conclusion that one should eschew new builds altogether.
Old builds had the problems but most things were basic.
Wet heating systems where hard to fùck up.
Hot air systems then where good if installed by someone who knew how. But same problem there was only a few who knew how to install to get the best out of them.

Loft spaces are sh ite total waste in most new builds

Access / working in them total sh ite

Worked in some new builds down this way
Timber framed out side walls are rendered polystyrene with a sort of rendered coating
You could kick yer way into the house only thing stopping you is a piece of ply wood the other side of the polysterine out side wall

Dummy bricks under the windows

Total sh ite

Chip board floors

Stud interior walls

My daughters brand new school lasted 2 years. Its now due to be knocked down due to greed, cheap materials. An unskilled workforce. And building control not doing the job that pays them so well.

2019 the school opened closed 2022

Probably 5 people over the course of 3 decades.

But that was enough to put me off buying a modern house.

Plus, I've worked on loads of 80s-onwards housing too. I have seen how poorly-built they are and what quality of materials have been used.

Mind you, everything is relative.

My Gran lost her house in Golders Green in the war. I think it was originally built in the 20s.

It was rebuilt in the second half of the 40s and she was so upset. It was, in her own words, "utterly shoddy and flimsy" in comparison to the original.

So not an inherent problem tied to new builds?

Don’t worry.

You’d be fiddling around with the similar technologies used in newer houses sometime in the future.

Perhaps, they carried out an assessment on demand, prevalence of people in a family, and instead of the loft room they accommodated the space somewhere else?

En-suite or a double bathroom isn’t uncommon with new builds after all.
Access / working in them total sh ite
Could you elaborate, please?

Chip board floors
Chipboard floors, unless disrupted with, which is quite uncommon in new builds, aren’t really a pain.

But your other points fall under,
Yes - they aren’t built as strong as the older houses, but that is a different story.

Do you work in the Industry? More importantly the build or the maintenance of new builds?

Probably 5 people over the course of 3 decades.
Which is a very, very relatively small amount in comparison to the people who had acquired a new build.

And the criteria and under what year the new build houses are being discussed about isn’t yet been said.
But that was enough to put me off buying a modern house.
So the assertion of not buying a new build is under a flimsy collection?

Do they ever fall down, or cause catastrophic failures?

“40’s”?
