Hi Guys,

Is there any point in using impact bits on a combi drill ? I have a BHP459RFW with hammer, drill and screw.

Also, any tips on controlling the drill when using larger bits ? I have found that the drill will literally twist which in turn gives me an aching wrist.

Good quality impact bits will last longer than cheap ones in an 18v drill. I managed to use a Wera one for months before I used it in my impact driver and shredded it. No reason not to use them other than cost.

Use pilot holes and don't use the trigger as an on/off switch to minimise wrist strain.

As suggested, impact drivers are much easier to use but they chew through bits at a fair old rate.
