In line water (cold mains) filter

I have just fitted a scale inhibitor (CURA Electrolytic Scale Inhibitor - 22mm) to cold mains inlet. I am slowly adding more filters to the cold water mains as the water quality is not good. Could I add a in line magnetic filter to mains water? These are only used on combi boiler heating loops BUT they are just plastic and a magnet so not sure they could not be used on incoming cold water

Ok. How do you know your water quality isn’t good? Who is your undertaker (supplier)? What material is the incoming main?

Because it's common knowledge that mains water infrastructure has degraded. Not disputable. Blue water pipe incoming material is MDPE

Complaints about the water industry are mostly about (a) leaks in the supply network, and (b) leaks into the environment (rivers and sea) from the sewage network. Complaints about supply water quality are rare. Have you read the Drinking Water Inspectorate’s annual reports?

Fitting multiple filters of different types to your water supply sounds paranoid.
