I have a dishwasher with a no heat fault. Checked element 29 ohms, no burning around relay on board and thermister rear of capsule container is in posistion. Where is the thermostat? is it likely its faulty?

Seem to have 240v on element but no neutral. Is it the neutral thats switched or is it backed via the stat.
Confused Please help!

A lot of dishwashers switch the neutral with a relay on the board,

If your dishwasher PCB is a small one with a flying lead (thermister) we usually test the heater relay by powering it up to see if it closes (we have a test rig) or just change the heater relay and try it.

Will check the relay. Model is DVG622K IX UK
TYPE LS 12 EVO3

Thanks both. I take it that the stat is an unlikely fault and these suffer with relay contacts burning out.

The machine is only two years old little used and wiring looks good. I know Indesit are cheap but still a bit sad. My old integrated AEG never failed in 8yrs (then sold house!) Whats the best to go for now? I was told AEG is made by someone else

AEG is owned by Electrolux as are Zanussi, Tricity Bendix along with others (they also make for others to put there name on like most companys)

My personal preference is for Zanussi badged machines at the moment as I have less aggro with them.

Ran it up with circuit board exposed and got 240v across output of white relay. Does this point to the stat? Is it possible to get at without removing machine.? Thanks, replies have been very herlpful so far

Phil

If you are getting 240V across the output of the relay that means it is open circuit as you would have no voltage if the relay closed (it is just a switch in the neutral normally and does not draw power as opposed to something like the element)

The relay does not operate the whole time either (suck eggs time sorry)

Thanks,

Sorry I tought it would have been double pole. Didn't look properly just stuck meter accross ! So looks like it is the stat then. Unforntuneatly with my big hands cant reach it. I assume its machine out ! Not ideal as a plumber ran hep2o pipe between the legs! Oh well. Don't envy you guys on appliance repairs
