Inline switch on festoon lights

I have festoon lights on a plug but would like to add a wall mounted external light switch between the socket and the lights, to make it easier to switch on and off rather than having to open the low level socket each time. Can I just use a 20amp BG external lightswitch and how should it be wired correctly?

Yes.

20A switches are usually double pole - i.e. switches both Line(live) and Neutral.

Therefore connect the supply cable L & N to Supply/In/Feed and the light cable to Output/Out/Load - however it is marked - and both of the CPCs(earth wires) in the earth terminal.
