Inserting Wires Into Conduit - Why?

NO? my mistake, I thought that was what I was told on here, that the metal protection should be earthed?

So Conduit and the covering pictured above does not need earthing?
 
Nope. There are certain situations where you may want to earth a steel conduit for other reasons (such as omitting an RCD from a circuit), but it does not need earthing just because it is carrying mains cables in a wall.

Capping is not suitable for use as a CPC, so would never be earthed.
