Hi,
I had a new consumer unit put in with a extra rcd for a shower im planning on installing for an en suite ,some new sockets around the house, a cable to the outside and a security light fitted.
This was done last August and i had to ring the electrician last week for the certificate which i received ( see attachments)
I always thought the certs you get were red and from EIC ? so i rang the bloke but he said what he gave me is what you get.
So i just thought i'd ask on here.
They dont seem to be filled fully , ie no cert No , no Contractor name

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Andy,

I cannot make out the content. See here for how to do images:

To have done the work you describe, the spark must be a member of one of the 5 schemes that allow people to do electrical work and notify it to the local authority.

Is he listed here? www.competentperson.co.uk ??

Have you had a Completion Notice from his scheme provider that says the work has been done and notification has be provided under Building Regulations Part P.

If not then he has broken the law.

There's nothing to say that he must number certs but most people do so they can track the details. If he is an NICEIC member then he will have to use NICEIC numbered certs but not necessarily if he a member of another scheme.

Andy,

The Forms you have appear to be of the KEWTECH type and are from their Inspection and Test Schedule [TC5].
These are NOT FULLY adequate {on their own} for the work you describe as having been carried out, they should be accompanied by the Electrical Installation Certifcate Form [ TC1]--OR Alternatively the Kewtech Part P domestic Electrical Certificate could be used.
The Electrician does not have to be a member of one of the Competant Person Schemes, BUT if he is not ..and therfore not able to Self Certify and Notify the work, via his scheme operator,. then he will have been under the obligation BY LAW to have given your Local Authority Building Control department Notice before commencement --pay a fee- and allow them to inspect the work at 1st and 2nd fix stages.

i have uploaded the certs again at a bigger size,

are these sufficient for the work ive had done or do i need a EIC ?

thanks

I can't quite make out what's been written as the method for protection against indirect contact - it doesn't look like EEBADS :?
