No. Because this involves too many hands and relies upon the downpipe being dead straight which it often is not.thanks its just installing and leveling the down pipes, the guttering is all in place. Is holding the downpipe in place while I put a level on to check for level and marking the clip holes not a recommended way of doing this?
If you are using that pants square guttering then the outlet needs to be central over the gully below.Thanks. Were is best to hang it from? the center of the gutter outlet ? To give the center of the down-pipe?
Thanks, How do you plumb up from the gully though. With the plumb line need to be held from above.
Use a 1200mm spirit level. We mark a plum line on the wall from the centre of the gully up to just shy of the soffit.
You can then use this line to measure the drill holes for the down pipe.
The line is usually a feint scratch using the edge of a bolster chisel or similar. Or if the masonry is smooth use a light pencil line.
We have used the laser also but it needs to be dull or fading light.
