i am using 6mm t&e cable and a 45A double pole control box, what size should the mcb be in the fusebox for a new cooker?

6mm² cable will be good for between 23.5 and 47 amp assuming thermoplastic cable assuming reference method 100# than 34 amp which would mean a 32 amp MCB as max but if in a stud wall with thermal insulation with cable not touching the inner wall surface then down to 23.5 so without further information to be on safe side it would have to be a 20 amp MCB.
Second is the cooker a baby belling only requires a 13 amp supply but some of the induction hobs need 45 amp for the hob alone and that does not include the oven so it could be as high as 60 amp although unlikely.
Fortunately kitchens come under Part P as does consumer units so it will require a registered electrician to connect it all up who will know what the cooker requires once he has seen them and also will have a good idea of how the cable runs.
If MCB is too small then using too many rings etc may mean the MCB trips if however the MCB is too big then it may set house on fire it does not take too much to work out if not sure which was to go so if your going to break the law then I would advise a 20 amp RCBO.
