I'm after some advise, I'm just planning out a shed/workshop and I've got a load of 100mm polystyrene sheets left over from another job, i was going to put them under the floor so that the floor slab was insulated. I've seen this done for extensions and new builds where it goes on top of the sand and then concrete is poured over the top to form the inter floor which is then thermally separated from the cold outside. My question is how do i sort out the edges where the timber wall plate fixes down? I was planning on using 4x2" for the walls and insulating between the vapour barrier and internal plywood. How would this work where it meets the floor, to continue the insulation without a thermal bridge?
