insulating a built in cupboard in bedroom possible asbestos?

Hi

Well i just started to tear down some old fibreboard from a cupboard which is part of an exterior wall so its under the slope of the roof, well i was pretty woried considering its a relvatively old house and i saw it was really dusty behind the board, well i just wanted a second opinon because the its like a orange coloured fibreboard and plaster ontop and i did some reasearch in which i saw a picture which matched fairly close to the same type of board.

Well i justed wanted to know how dangerous asbestos is i have never been in contact or removed any before, if it was asbestos would it be safe just to wear a regular old dust mask, i already tore down most of it, wasnt alot of it but hopefully it isnt asbestos,?? would you think if it would be more safer to get it checked out before i try to clean up all the dust and rubish??
