Hi again

I have read posts here and elsewhere regarding the insulation of a detached garage.

On one hand, it seems ok, after laying dpm, to attach sole plate of stud wall to concrete floor. On the other hand everyone seems to say that suspended floor joists should be 150mm above concrete.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

150mm is the normal height of a DPC or existing house floor above an attached garage floor - so is often mentioned for garage conversions. Plus it allows for sufficient insulation of a timber floor

If non of this is relevant to a detached garage, then you can ignore
