Hi All,

I am planning on putting insulation over my timber studs (already insulated) to prevent ghosting. (don't really want to stretch to the plasterboard/insulation laminate boards)

How thick do you think is necessary? Not worries about U values as I have already far exceeded minimum within the stud work.

Was planning 12mm plus 12.5mm plasterboard but was worried this is insufficient?

Thanks

Might be cheaper to call in the ghost busters and then just board out.

hmmm,

12mm chipboard same price as 12mm insulation, ply about £2 more a sheet.

2mm polystryene wall liner roll will do if this is the internal frame to a cavity wall

It the internal wall (of external wall)of a timber frame house. 50mm cavity then block. Studs have 120mm insulation
