IP65 GU10 downlighting above a shower

Fire rated fittings are only required if the ceiling is a fire barrier.
Your bathroom ceiling will not be a fire barrier unless you live in a flat with another flat above.

So I ended up buying this downlighter from tool station. https://www.toolstation.com/fire-rated-cast-gu10-downlight/p49149#full-desc

I thought that because it had a 60 minute fire rating they are class as IP65 but it didn't mention any of this on the website but on the box it's rates as IP 20.

I plan to use it anyway but how is it that it can be fire rated yet still only such a low rating?

IP ratings mean "can you poke your finger in it" or "can water squirt into it"

they have nothing to do with fire ratings.

I see they sell an IP65 lamp for an extra £2.50. Can you change it?

How high is the lamp above floor level?

Ceiling is 2.4m

so you can, as Taylor says, but I would have gone for the IP65 one, and hang the expense.

I actually had 4 spare Sanlumia IP65 downlighters spare from when I built a new kitchen extension 4 years ago and as I mentioned and uploaded the earlier photo.

However, it looks a bit ugly as the home is small and the bulb is further recessed in which prevents light from escaping. Hence I wanted s bulb closer to the surface. Cost did not play a factor in my decision at all.
