Iran

IRGC nowhere to be seen, Putin offering Khomeini asylum, mass evacuations from Tehran, Iran still have plenty of ballistics left but the IAF are destroying the launchers so fast the ballistics wont be much use before too long.
Iran offers to re-open nuclear talks with US and to me more 'flexible'.

What are the main objections to regime change in Iran. The USA has never pursued it, instead preferring to contain and hobble the current regime. I have read several articles over the years, but I can't remember the details of why it has generally been considered a bad idea. There are the obvious arguments that it would be like Libya and Iraq, but several times worse. But I think Iran is a more civilised and educated country. I simply don't know enough about it. Hopefully, it wouldn't lead to an equivalent of ISIS or the Taliban taking over.

The way I'm reading it neither the US or Israel are pushing for regime change, the object is simply to neutralise the nuclear threat and the ability to manufacture ballistic missiles and inter continental ballistic missiles, for the very simple reason that the Ayatollahs have categorically stated their intent to use them against the US and Israel.
The current aim of Israel appears to be to pave the way for 'moderates' to form a government.

You mean moderates within the existing governing structures? So, still an Islamic theocracy?

By posting opinion pieces by known terrorists with a stated hatred for Israel?

Yes, that's balanced reporting.
I didn't think Verify was actual reporting. It's just close examination of images and footage to see if what is being claimed is true or not. Did they confirm or deny what was put in front of them, in the case you cite?

If you disagree with them, have you lodged a complaint with them?

As the UN charter is typically interpreted, the use of force is allowed against an actual or imminent attack in self-defence – but it must be necessary and proportionate. With Mr Netanyahu’s expanding aims – regime change, strikes on energy infrastructure and bombing residential areas – the action no longer even pretends to be self-defence. In response, Iran has launched 10 waves of ballistic missiles, killing Israeli civilians and targeting its oil and gas facilities.

Israel justifies its actions by saying Tehran is preparing to build a nuclear bomb. If true, Israel knows more than both the US and the UN’s nuclear watchdog. The International Atomic Energy Agency’s finding of a safeguards breach has political weight, but no legal bite. Yet Israel – still the region’s only nuclear power, undeclared and outside the nuclear non-proliferation treaty – is bombing Iran to stop it from doing what it never admitted to doing itself.

Mr Netanyahu lacks the bunker-busting bombs and bombers needed to seriously damage Iran’s deeply buried nuclear sites. So the strategy may be to hit hard enough to force Iran into submission – or to provoke a backlash big enough to drag Mr Trump in. Either way, it’s a strategy that relies less on deterrence than on provocation.the Guardian

The Iranian people have struggled for over a century against forces of authoritarianism, which can seem endemic in the Middle East. At numerous junctures, foreign intervention has undermined their efforts. In 1911, a constitutional revolution was crushed with the intervention of Russian troops. In 1953, Iran’s elected government was ousted in a coup engineered by the CIA and MI6. In 1980, the course of the Islamic Revolution was altered when Saddam Hussein invaded Iran. In 2018, Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal, dooming Iran’s once influential and popular reformist movement, which had staked so much on the promise of sanctions relief.

An interesting view on Iranian affairs by Esfandyar Batmanghelidj in the Guardian where he goes on to say that Israel is harming, not improving Iran’s moves towards democracy.

Someone disagrees with your 'reading of it'

"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged the Iranian people to stand up to the Islamic Republic in an address on Friday evening.

Israel's fight is not against the Iranian people. Our fight is against the murderous Islamic regime that oppresses and impoverishes you," Netanyahu said.

The time has come for the Iranian people to unite around its flag and its historic legacy, by standing up for your freedom from the evil and oppressive regime," he added. "This is your opportunity to stand up and let your voices be heard."

"Regime change in Iran could be a result of Israel's military attacks on the country, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Fox News on Sunday, saying Israel would do whatever is necessary to remove the "existential threat" posed by Tehran"

Relax, we're winning.
