Is Islam A Religion of Peace

I have mentioned it in the past, but not in this thread. The various religions are riddled with contradictions. It's what makes them so hilarious - if it wasn't so tragic about all the death and suffering inflicted upon humanity by those that "believe".

Can you explain why one should follow a religion that advocates rape, pillage, slavery and murder (of children as well as adults)?

I doubt it very much.

not asking anyone to follow a religion or any one.
its not just religion, thats inflicted suffering, none religion also, as i say its about the heart, if the heart does not change then it profits nothing. its all in vain.

the tribes that the israelites were told by God to destroy, those same tribes were going to destroy israel
israel wasa not told to rape, or murder. and the slavery was only for a short time, and they were treated well.

Is that your excuse for believing in something inherently wrong?

its not an excuse, its just you dont see it how it is.
1 corinthians
14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

So God told people to kill other people? Peaceful eh?

yes, in certain cases he did. you dont see it how it is, you understanding of it is natural, you dont see the spiritual aspects, or why.

The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open. (Hosea 13:16)

Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every women that hath known man by lying with him Numbers 31:17

If that is the spirit of God he can go feck himself.

Seeing as you are quoting Corinthians....

Let the women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as also saith the law. And if they would learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home: for it is shameful for a woman to speak in the church. (1 Corinthians 14:34-35)

Charming.

You would think that considering the population size of the Middle East 2000 - 6000 years ago, and Europe in the mid 20th century, your divine omnipotent being would have chosen the latter for a bit of direct intervention to save his chosen people.

Because his sacrifice [sic] was worth bugger all in the grand scheme of things.

it was because some were disrupting the service, maybe a better understanding;

1 corinthians 14

34-36 Wives must not disrupt worship, talking when they should be listening, asking questions that could more appropriately be asked of their husbands at home. God’s Book of the law guides our manners and customs here. Wives have no license to use the time of worship for unwarranted speaking. Do you—both women and men—imagine that you’re a sacred oracle determining what’s right and wrong? Do you think everything revolves around you?
