You can love someone whilst accepting they are mentally unwell. The two are not mutually exclusive of each other. The child is put in the unenviable position of not having a choice.

Yes. I was trying for a parody of some language I found offensive, but I realised I was actually being an @rsehole.

I tried to PM sunshine to apologise but I am blocked. If anyone could PM him (or her) for me to let them know I am sorry that would be nice.

This sort of thing has been going on in human society for thousands of years. It happens in all societies, including remote communities which are still relatively separate form the rest of human civilisation.

Some people still think its weird and new though.
