Is that why Merkel acted as she did ?

it's a sad fact that working with lead in their younger days can cause permanent damage to the brains of old plumbers.

Interesting notion. Not sure if it's completely true, or maybe it's not the only reason though.

So that's why they take to reading right-wing fascist rags like the Express and Mail, is it? I've often wondered

Ah, but I expect you've been drinking water from lead pipes. As have most of us really, so maybe there's a lot of closet mail and express readers on here.

I find that the people that really act like intolerant fascists are the left wing , momentum, anti fascist group so on ...people who see themselves as bastions of moderation intelligence and reason .....often they are the most intolerant people you could meet, anyone who disagrees with them they class as fascists.

So give me an example of fascism from the newspapers you've quoted.

probably some truth to the article

politics is a dirty bussiness tis all smoke and mirrors, and dirty deals hatched up over beer and sandwiches , or in merkels case frankfuters and lager ;)

I think you are taking me faaar too seriously. As an ex-member of the Labour Party (very ex-) I still regard myself as somewhat left wing and socialist, but whereas Tony Blair was over the horizon to my right I now find that chancer Corbyn, Momentum, etc to be way over in the other direction...... PC behaviour I have no time for in the main - it is another form of bullying which the political left have gotten away with for far too long in the western world. On the other hand, what can you say for a newspaper which printed the headline "Hurrah for the Blackshirts!" in the 1930s and continues in the same vein to the present day?

Both of the papers in question have a fairly long track record in printing racist, xenophobic headlines and editorials over many years. In point of fac t The Sun and the Daily Mail were both singled out in a report on “hate speech” and discrimination in the UK by the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) in 2016 for “offensive, discriminatory and provocative terminology”. 'tis nothing new - read the potted history here and here - not that I believe all of it

Are you serious ? a picture from 1934 to try and prove you point oh grow up. Member of the labour party says it all, it's like admitting to being a member of the raving lunatic party, make no mistake I don't take you seriously .

Please go back and READ what I ACTUALLY wrote, not what you IMAGINE that I wrote (for example, I specifically said EX-member of the Labour Party - I left when Bliar took over), THEN follow the other links in my post. The point I was attempting to illustrate was that the Mail in particular has a very, very long history of xenophobia and racism and is still of concern to bodies other than the PC left in that respect to the present day. And if you want to be rude, then I should point out that you aren't showing any maturity (or civility) in telling me to grow up when you, yourself, seem incapable of reading the written word or of comprehending it - a prominent attribute of both the PC left and the rabid right in my experience.

he didn't actually mean it.

You gave him one, and he didn't like it.
