The hob is presently connected via an unfused spur from the ring(not good). I will be rewiring it so that it is connected to the allready connected cooker radial (6mm2 T&E with CCU) supplying the oven.

He never said it was a gas hob. :?

If podooser has a single oven that ought to have a 13 amp fuse protecting it somewhere.
 
A lot of the Electric Oven nowadays can just be pulgged directly in as if it where a Toaster.

Check the instructions.
