Hi all, refitting bathroom and these older pipes have been deemed ok...about 20 years old.. worth replacing? Or leave? Thank you!

Will be fine, depends how much it will bother you in the future really.

You don't want it all finished then wish you had changed them anyway

Thank you. I am definitely a bothered type with these kinds of things! But if they are fine operationally then I guess that should be the overriding factor.

Pipes replaced but push fits used and buried in plaster which i have had to remove as I wasn't expecting push fits in this space. Will be tiled but I have never come across push fits buried hence I am seeking some advice on this. Im getting quite stressed about this now as this job needs completing and im getting into unnecessary debates with our installer. He is a genuinely nice chap and has assured me this is ok but from what I've researched so far, not good practice to bury push fits. Really appreciate any advice please

No, you should not bury plastic pushfit fittings in plaster.

The old copper - with its soldered fittings - was probably fine.

Note in your first photo the tee was also a pushfit fitting I think - but a copper one. (Unless it is “press fit”, but I don’t think so.)

Here are the installation instructions for the JG plastic pushfit fittings (probably what you have there):

See page 19.

Morning.. thank you. You're right and if I had known this I would have put a stop to it. This is at my mums property so I am not around to keep an eye on things and work full time. My fault for not clarifying all of the little details. But you shouldn't have to should you?! I can see other copper compression fittings buried in a few other areas. Its probably about a third of the way in so unfortunately I will have to stop the refit and take a loss as if this is the state of things now, who knows what is to come. If there is anyone around the Bham area anyone can recommend or an area on this site for recommends please let me know. Thank you
