just recently bought an oven - and found out the "brand"
has a tendency to churn out sh*t! my mistake - never again will i go budget.

its a Lamona LMA3200 (not the HJA3200 or any other model )
and I've read an alarming number of stories of the glass doors exploding
sometimes the outer glass sometimes the inner glass - whatever, I just dont fancy it happening.

Now as i understand it, Beko in fact manufacture the oven and Howdens simply re-brand it.

but the design slightly changes between the Beko models and the Lamona
in which the glass on the lamona is fitted with two screws
and the beko by a bar and holders

its apparently this difference and the screws that are likely causing the problems with the Lamona models

so, my question is - rather than buy a new oven ( the lamona is still in its box and unopened )
would it be possible to switch the doors?

so say get a beko door to fit the lamona oven etc?
basically any 'good brand' door that is less likely to go bang.

if that's not possible its going in the bin lol.

cheers guys

Why don't you go back to the place where you bought it and ask if you can change it for a different (probably more expensive) model?

only reason is because it wasn't store bought :(

otherwise it would have been back straight away.
and so that's why I asked this question.

Did you buy it online? If so Distance Selling Regulations may help you out.
If not, then as said, ebay it?

Howdens are only re-branding it, beko manufacture (or buy in from a supplier) therefore if you buy a beko door you could end up with the the one your trying to avoid.

cheers guys - I think I was trying to avoid the inevitable.

It's going on Ebay this afternoon
even if I get £75 for it I'll be happy.

thanks again :)
