If say that was low but I would always fit Aico smoke and heat alarms which aren’t the cheapest - but are the best

For what it's worth, it sounds pretty low to me, too. I presume that the quote includes the cost of materials, so, as has been suggested, I would be asking about the proposed make/type of alarms, and also the make and specification of the proposed 'replacement distribution board'.
