Hi I've just had a new roof done with double Roman Tiles. But No 'under-soaker or Bonding Strip ' was laid before the hip ridge tiles were put on. Do We now need to take off the Ridge tiles and lay a bonding strip then replace with the hip join tiles ?

Not a clue what you're on aboot.

Sometimes we use tile fillets in the tile profile recess in order to reduce the mortar bed.....?

...or are you referring to a lead saddle at a hip or valley junction?

Hi, Re our newly renovated roof:

We've had the front and rear left and right side hip joins and main roof ridge tiles secured and bedded with sand and cement mortar mix.

However, we've been told by someone that we needed either under-soaker or bonding strips below the Hip tiles especially where it joins neighbouring properties as it is a mid terrace house with adjoining houses on either side.

So we wanted advice as to whether it was standard common practice as we'd need to remove the existing hip tiles and ridge tiles plus one course of tiles from both ours and neighbours property in order to install the fibreglass bonding strips.[/b]
