I have a new boiler which supplies domestic hot water on demand and directly ie no header tank [central heating is separate sealed system]
If I need to change a hot tap washer I will need to switch off all water at mains and turn off the boiler.
It seems I have 3 choices to improve things and would like to know which people think is best:
1) fit isolator valves to each and every hot tap (I'd rather not get under the bath etc)
2) fit an isolator valve to the 15mm supply pipe to boiler (I think boiler would still have to be off at electrics)
3) fit a 22mm stop tap to outlet from boiler (all the boiler would know is that water was not being demanded)

3- seems preferable to me
is there anything I havent thought of

thanks
Derek

Just isolate the cold water going into the boiler with the handy valve provided. Problem solved!

thanks for taking the time to reply
If it was that easy I wouldnt have asked
the only valve supplied is T d off from the cold supply to fill/repressurise the sealed central heating. This valve would have no effect on stopping water to the domestic hot water supply
thanks anyway

What combi do you have? All combis I know of have an isolater on the cold inlet!

Not the Glowworm that needed a new water section today I worked on!

Well, there HAS to be one but could not find it for love nor money.

Good old freezer kit came in handy.

Apologies to everyone - especially ELITEHEAT
Spurred on by GAS4YOUs comment, I looked a little closer...
On removing a plastic shield from my Worcester 28i junior, I discovered that each and every pipe has a screwdriver slot type valve.
I was expecting a valve to have been actually fitted a little further away
and as I am capable of fitting one thought that this may be necessary..
a little knowledge is a dangerous thing etc...
thanks again
Im happy now
