Of course they have a choice.
The government had a choice not imprison or kill thousands of Palestinians.
They had a choice not to subjugate and dominate the Palestinians that they did not kill or imprison.
Every IDF soldier has a choice to follow unlawful orders or not.
Every Israeli citizen has a choice to support their government in this unjust killing of innocent civilians or not.
In some ways Israels response to the uprising in Gaza is logical.
They see themselves in an existential fight for survival of their state , in that situation they don't have the luxury of being able to have a balanced view of the conflict, but then again, they chose to create a lions den for themselves when they embarked on the Zionist project to build a state on top of another people.

They most certainly are not. The vast majority are innocent, law-abiding people who have not brought anything upon themselves.
Netanyahu is killing these people en masse, a genocide, no less. And he is losing support.
Support from his own people and support from the West.
History will not treat him well.
