I know the like button is a recent addition, when was the thanks button added ? It was there when I joined.

Probably because, if he is living in EU somewhere and not currently in the UK, when the UK leaves the EU his ability to rely on the health arrangement will cease?
OR because it's his choice, he is entitled to want the UK to remain in the EU.
Just as much as many of us also want the UK to leave the EU.
Have you asked him?
Or probably, like around 50% , are forward thinking, not backward looking. Not everybody has a siege mentality.
