Joint thickness

You never lay bricks/blocks like that. Joints have to be staggered...

They can be laid with straight joints if the wall has been designed that way, known as stack bond, but normally the bed joints are reinforced. It's more difficult to lay as the joints have to be kept perfectly plumb. I've never really liked the look of it, and even when tiling I prefer to half bond them.

Thank you for the responses.

Could I ask what is wrong with the blocks in the way they have been laid ?

My concern was the thickness of the joint but I'm guessing there's more to this than I first thought?

Many thanks again,
Kevin
The fact that they are straight nick is more serious than the deep beds, especially if its doing any work.
