Hi guys (and gals)

Hopefully a simple question.

My mother was having a tree stump ground out and unfortunately it cut through a SWA cable that was running from the house to a garden shed. This was laid by the the previous owners so we were unaware of its existence.

The cable is 2.5 mm twin core

So my question is, what is the best way (subjective opinion allowed) of jointing the two ends. Logically the wire braid is used as the earth so assuming the jointing solution will need to accommodate that.

All suggestions appreciated

Thanks TCC

The kit looks interesting and would appear to be just the job

I am assuming the kit has provision for the connecting of the wire braiding as well as the two cores.

In answer to your question, no the cable was only a couple of inches below the surface which is why it was vulnerable. But when I make good the repair, I will ensure the requirement of 18" is observed.

Thanks again
