I need to replace an old fuse box with a new CU which is fine, except that i need to extend all the wires into the fuse bos in order to feed the CU which is across the room.

Can anyone suggest where I can get a large enclosure from in which I can entend 8 or 9 cables?

thanks

I see you are in England. Replacing a CU is notifiable work, so you should either notify your LABC, submit plans and pay their fee before starting work, or engage a Competent Person who is a member of a self-certification scheme.

Junction boxes are undesirable as they contain non-permanent joints which are liable to come loose over time and must be accessible for inspection and maintenance.

Another way of extending cables is to use ratchet crimps and heat-shrink sleeving.

A company called IMO make various size enclosures fitted with din rail.
These can be fitted with din rail terminals.
They can be purchased via most electrical wholesalers
