Hi

I have a fairly old Karcher 411A pressure washer that seems to work fine for a while but then the compressor runs constantly and builds up the pressure more and more.

The only way to stop it is to press the trigger on the hose to release the water. Once you let go it just keeps pressuring up again.

Used to pressure up for a second or so then stop ready to go again

Any ideas please would be great

Neil

They are the most unreliable of all appliances. Might as well get a new one. It sounds like the pressure switch has failed but I doubt you'll get a spare at a price that is cost effective.

I just kick my karcher pressure washer when the motor overruns, seems to do the trick. but it's on it's way out

Pay a bit more for the 5 series when you get a new one. Rated for continuous use.

the older karcher 411 had a special dump valve piston that moved up and down against a micro switch when you operate the trigger. after a while the valve gets worn. its simple to fit as its on a bayonet so just 1/4 turn and pull. looks like a big white plastic 50p with a spring in middle. part number is karwpu9001135 just google it or but from sparesgiant. sometimes it is the micro switch but you can just press it to test
