Hi, I've just been to have a look at an oil fired 100k Stanley cooker/boiler which had blown the 1.5 amp fuse on the pcb. It would pre purge for 5-7 seconds and then blow another fuse without firing. I don't think the ignition even fired.Trouble was I only had one fuse . Stripped it down to check ignition leads, electrodes, shaft rotation on pumps & motors (cooker seemed a little tight but was not solid),solenoids. Then reassembled everything to try last fuse, it blew as before.Checked wiring in control box bases but could not see anything wrong. Appliance has fan assisted flue, could this be the problem or can you give me any other pointers please.
The Stanley is 5 years old but has not been serviced for 18 months.
Any help greatly appreciated.
