Watching reverse gear queer charmer in PMQ's yesterday he was clearly on the ropes, rattling his papers and his chatgpt repartee, clearly none of it from him with the charisma of a 1970s concrete bunker, looks more n more like that codger from the film UP. Was it a 4pm ish statement today i would assume by a few involved. Shame becuase Chemi has been finding her ground lately this will see what she's made of.
On a side note coming back to it, we pay their wages right? Ive said this many times i like to see all MPs primarily acting in the interest of the country, much as i like some of what Jenrick says he's still a slimey politician and if its proven this is all about him he should be sacked as an MP let alone move anywhere. We are already spaffing too much money on benefit and non working scroungers let alone the rest.

The trumpets have died down since their decline in the polls. Amusing to see at least one die hard Reformist, still blowing the horn.

I have just been on the phone with a shadow cabinet minister who said "it’s like something from The Thick Of It" because, they claimed, Jenrick "left his resignation speech printed out and hanging around" and "someone got hold of it".

This shadow minister added that he had sat next to Jenrick at yesterday’s meeting of the shadow cabinet and "he was playing nicely, I had no idea".

At a recent Tory away day, I am told, he had also been "contributing normally" with no indication a defection might be imminent.

So why has this happened?

"He has been overwhelmed by personal ambition in a Macbeth type way" his former colleague claimed.

"Kemi is getting better and his ambition wasn’t being sated. And he’s lost his mind."

Tellingly, a few hours on from this story breaking, we have heard nothing from Robert Jenrick, to hear his side of the story, while plenty of others drip sharp words into reporters’ ears.

In this hi tech world I would be surprised if it was literally that way. It makes a good headline but more likely the draft was leaked electronically.
