Unfortunately the protagonists(PC Brigade) are usually white, middle aged, middle-class busy bodies who have nothing better to do but stand up for the so-called underdog, an unelected spokesperson if you like. Most of my black mates hate them interfering and accuse them of promoting racism by attracting unwanted attention. Sadly some do take advantage and play the racism game

When I was training to be a teacher, they would wheel out a black headmaster every year just to show that black people can also 'make it'. A black friend of mine (female, incidentally) was absolutely furious and told me how she felt patronised by this.
Agreed. At the risk of Joe and others coming out of the woodwork and accusing me of racism, I believe that everyone regardless of race, colour or creed should have the same rights and opportunities.
Tokenism has been rife in this country for as long as I can remember. It is the result of usually white, Guardian-types who live in their own little world and want everyone to be equal.
The problem is that everyone is not equal. I could never be a pilot because of my eyesight; I could never be a fireman because I am a weakling; I could never be a university professor because I am thick; I could never be a senior civil servant because I am black (NB - only the first two are actually true).
Yet we are all aware that 'certain people' are in positions of responsibility because standards have been waived in order to achieve parity amongst different races, ethnic origins and genders.
I repeat (for Joe's benefit), I am in favour of true equality of opportunity provided that people are able to fulfil the requirements of the positions they hold. What is often the case is that the best-suited to a job is turned down in favour of someone who 'ticks the boxes'. That is not equality.

I missed this thread, just saw it today, yup I was totally gutted when I heard the news on TV, the action of these coward morons who used guns to move down defenceless and innocent children and other victims.

No No. Joe, no the Heros are not deliberately targeting innocent people, and if you use human shield or hide behind civilians and conduct your dirty filthy evil agenda, that these cowards and disillusioned people are desperately trying to impose their sickening ideology upon us using a sword, therefore in the name of True Lord our God, it is then better to sacrifice some innocent lives than to have these evil beasts trying to propagate their evil beliefs upon us. May lord punish these disillusioned people in hell forever. They conduct heinous crimes in his name, for God there is no excuse to take a life of an innocent humans, believers or not.
I hesitate to say this but, having just read these words, I wish there really were a god and especially a hell where these people could spend eternity in constant pain.
Unfortunately there isn't so perhaps, if and when they (or others like them) are caught, they could be spared execution and instead be subjected to constant torture for the rest of their natural lives.
