Have just noticed our Keston 125l indirect (stainless steel) cylinder is now leaking (had for 7years so out of warranty) so am looking to replace, now not impressed with the Keston (also have Keston boiler) as thought it would have lasted much longer, so what make can anyone recommend please?

Vaillant make a good cylinder, the uniSTOR. It works well as a standalone solutiuon with any boiler, even an infernal Keston.

When you bin the boiler, the uniSTOR and a Vaillant boiler can be integrated as a solution involving weather compensation.

Other makes of unvented worthy of consideration include OSO, Viessmann, RCM Copperform and Ariston. I've seen too many broken Baxi Pott megaflos to recommend them, also, contrary to their marketing blurb, there are only disadvantages to an internal air gap.

Thanks for that I was leaning towards Valliant. My system boiler is a Keston which has to be repositioned (house extended) unfotunately 50mm MUPVC pipes have been put thro` the tiled roof with all the lead soakers so unless a Valliant boiler can use these I'm stuck with the dreaded Keston. Any suggestions?

The Keston is almost unique in terms of the flue. That is why some installers love them because of their siting flexibility. However, these aren't usually the same people who have to come back and fix them  .

The Vaillant and it's ilk can also pass through roofs of both flat and pitched variety. It'll be a 100 or 125mm hole though.
