Michael le Vell has been cleared of rape.

As he has been found innocent, what now happens to the girl who made his life a misery for two years?

cleared means not enough evidence to convict or completely innocent or somewhere in between
or the girl is lying or completely innocent and has been raped or again somewhere in between

its the way the system works he is innocent and the girl is not at this stage believed
she could be guilty or innocent another jury will probably determine that

There will always be those that think he 'got away with it'. Maybe he did. But as no other girls came forward with similar claims we'll have to give him the benefit of the doubt. It'll still blight his life though.

He was probably dating her mother & got jilted.
Anyway cant wait for him to return to Corry... :?

it would be much easier to be innocent until proven guilty without the media..

I am concerned that since the Saville revelations, there has been a surge in the number of women claiming sexual misconduct of one type or another against men whose names are well known to the public.

I cannot help wondering how many of these claims are deliberately malicious in a cynical attempt by the women concerned to obtain some sort of notoriety and, of course, compensation.

Thus, in cases such as this, where the evidence presented is shown to be a fabrication, the perpetrator should face an automatic custodial sentence for perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

It is noteworthy in this particular case that initially the police found insufficient (or maybe even no) evidence to proceed, but were ordered to re-open the case by the CPS following intervention by the supposed victim's mother.

I daresay over the next days the tabloids will make a meal of these women and their backgrounds and then we will see the real motive!

then we will see the real motive!

I suspect we'll see everything but !!!!

There's the prosecution - they make stuff up
and the defence - they make stuff up
the police - they make stuff up
the barristers - which one is the best on the day?
the media - they want to put the most shocking headline on their rag that they can... doesn't matter if it's true... !!

So we have a fair trial?

Was it? Has that been proven? Or are you talking nonsense?

That's exactly what I was thinking. OK, Kevin/Michael has been found not guilty of the crime, but his name has been tarnished and there will always be doubt in people's minds about him. He has to live with that just because some girl and her mother made accusations for whatever reasons of their own.

Presumably, such accusers do these things because they know they have much to gain and nothing to lose.

Anyway , when Kev returns - the storyline will be :- he went to get the spanner back that he lent to Benny ( from the Crossroads Motel ) Then Kev and Sal will get back together - " Is that a spanner in your pocket Kev. Or are you pleased to see me ?"
