Hi I have got a four appliance isolator switch above my worktop ,ie fridge, freezer , dishwasher, and washing machine. After having the tiles removed and re plastered, the plasterer lost the fixing screws for the cover plate , these are smaller than normal sockets and switches. So now it seems I am going to have to buy the full unit. Can anyone tell me where I can buy one from as near to chesterfield or sheffield as possible.. And what is the correct name for this item, as I have looked on different sites trying to find one .

I presume you are talking about a 'grid switch'. These are not usually bought 'off the shelf' as whole units, but as several components which the installer assembles (front plate, a mounting frame and the separate switches) - because of the 'versatility' of the system.

It seems crazy to have to replace the whole thing because you've lost the screws. They are usually M3 (3 mm) about 10mm long - as you say, smaller than the usual M3.5 screws used for normal sockets and switches. I feel sure you ought to be able to find a couple somewhere - (on eBay if nowhere else!) - with a considerable saving of money and effort compared with replacing the whole unit (which would really be a job for an electrician).

Kind Regards, John.

B&Q screw section should have small packs of those screws. Or a local electrical wholesalers.

Worst case is that you'd have to just purchase a new cover plate, not a whole new grid system. But wholesaler should be able to help you out on the screws
